Financial Scholarships Available
The Minnetonka Orchestra Boosters offers scholarships for students whose families/guardians are experiencing financial difficulties to allow all students equal opportunities. These scholarships are to allow students who could not otherwise purchase concert apparel, take part in private lessons, or go on travel-study without financial assistance from a source outside their household.
The Minnetonka Orchestra Boosters holds many group fundraisers each year to raise money to support basic needs for all Minnetonka High School Orchestra Students and also those experiencing financial hardships.
All scholarship requests must be signed by both the Student and Parent/Guardian.
Travel Study Scholarship
Travel Study scholarships are need-based. If your student is unable to afford the cost of a travel study, even after individual fundraising, limited scholarship opportunities are available. Students who apply for these scholarships should plan to do individual fundraising and are required to take part in at least one, group fundraising activity. Priority will be given to students in grades 11-12, as 10th graders will have additional opportunities to travel. Scholarship amounts awarded are determined by the number of applicants and the amount of funds raised in group fundraisers. The amount awarded will not exceed more than 1/3 of the final cost of the travel study.
Please print and complete the application form below. On the application form, you are required to provide a brief statement outlining your circumstances and reason for needing scholarship funding. All information is completely private and confidential. The only person with access to individual information is your Orchestra Director. Please return the form to your Orchestra Director in-person, or by email.
Private Lessons Scholarship
Our Orchestra Booster program provides partial and full scholarships for private lessons.
Checks will be made to the teacher or music school for the amount.
Please print and complete the application form below. You will need to provide an invoice from your teacher or school for the amount requested. Please provide the name of the teacher/school you need a scholarship to, the mailing address, the teacher’s contact phone number and email address. Please return the form to your Orchestra Director either in-person or via email.
Concert Apparel Scholarship
For students who need a full or partial scholarship to purchase a concert outfit, the Boosters will provide a scholarship up to $80 per student. Please print and complete the application form below and submit with an itemized receipt for the concert items.
