Financial Scholarships for Orchestra Students-in-Need

The Minnetonka Orchestra Boosters offers scholarships for families in need, to allow all students the same opportunities. These scholarships are to allow students who could not otherwise purchase a dress, take part in private lessons, or go on travel-study without financial assistance from a source outside their household.

The Boosters Organization holds many group fundraisers each year to raise money to support basic needs for all MHS Orchestra Students and also those with financial hardships.
All scholarship requests must be signed by both the Student and Parent/Guardian.

Travel Study Scholarship

Travel Study scholarships are truly need-based and have several requirements for a student to qualify. If your student is unable to afford the cost of a travel study, even after individual fundraising and group fundraising, limited scholarship opportunities are available. Students who apply for these scholarships should plan to do individual fundraising and are required to take part in at least one group fundraising activity. (Group fundraising events are posted on the website under the CALENDAR tab). Priority will be given to students in grades 11-12, as 9th and 10th graders will have additional opportunities to travel. Scholarship amounts are determined by the number of applicants, and the amount of funds raised in group fundraisers. Please print and complete the application form below. On the application form, you are required to provide a brief statement outlining your circumstances and reason for needing scholarship funding. All information is completely private and confidential. The only person with access to individual information is Ms. Finn. Please return the form to Ms. Finn-Sommerfeld in person.
